Perfect laptop for me, pricey but with student discounts (which I lose when I graduate, and it will be truly too much to pay) I could just about justify it - helps that resale for Intel Macs was still quite strong at the time - it covered over half of the cost and I fully intend on keeping it and continue enjoying all its features for at least half a decade.īut then again. I ended up getting the 14, basically delivered all I love about the XPS (thin bezels, OLED-like contrast), all I loved about my Intel Mac (that trackpad, build quality and speakers) and the battery life and thermals benefits of M1 in one package but throwing in 120hz on top and a 1080p webcam. It just felt too similar to my old laptop in everything but the processor. I had a lot of battery anxiety with it, and I was hesitant in buying a M1 13in model in light of the upcoming 14 at the time. The thermals weren’t good either but it was the same with my old Mac, they both felt like a portable heater, but at least my old Mac had better battery life with a 4 year old battery than the XPS did new. I went from an Intel Mac to XPS 9310 but the battery life was horrendous. This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc. If you'd like to view their content together, click here.
